Bestowed Box Review + $5 coupon

Bestowed is a monthly healthy snack/food subscription box curated by a celebrity nutritionist named Heather Baur.  It is $19 a month including shipping, and you get your first month free if you sign up for an annual plan. They send 5-7 items each month, not including bonus things like recipes and things of that nature. Use code 5OFFBSTOWED01.  As you could probably tell by now, I have a slight obsession with food, so I was very happy when Bestowed gratuitously sent me this box to review. 

 It wasn't completely stuffed to the brim, but that is not necessarily a bad thing!

Hail Merry Almonds in Vanilla Maple ($2)- I love Hail Merry products! Their macaroons, and their almonds now too (not the granola).  These were pretty awesome, I never really thought about vanilla with almonds.

California Extra Virgin Olive Oil ($0.60)- Olive oil is something that will always go to use. And these are in little packets so I'll just use them for frying up some meat or something like that. The brand is what I get regularly anyways. 

KIND bar in Dark Chocolate Chili Almond ($2)- I haven't tried this yet, but it sounds tasty, because I like pretty much anything with a little kick.

Dr. Praeger's FREE ITEM coupon ($4)- Dr. Praeger's sells mostly veggie burgers I think. I've only had a veggie burger once in my life before, so I think they deserve another chance. Free coupons will always be used in my life.

Info booklet- I really like it when boxes include an info packet with descriptions of all the items. This one had really long descriptions, and even had some lifestyle tips on the back!

Mantiboba Hemp Hearts ($3)- I've gotten these in another box and they are pretty awesome. Hemp hearts are super healthy for you, I'll just add them to random things I eat.

Matt's Munchies Banana ($2)- My favorite item in the box! I would describe them as an fruit roll up for adults (even though I still eat them).  It came in a bunch of little bite-sized squares which was nice. And the flavor didn't taste artificially at all, just banana!

The total value of this box was about fourteen bucks. But this was just a review box, so I think it was just to see what kind of products they would send. I checked out reviews of the monthly box and all of them were above the $20 range, so that's nice. As for the products, I would say they are pretty awesome. All of them were/are going to be used very shortly. 

Verdict: I am debating if I should subscribe.

July Love With Food Review

I want to start out by saying that I think Love With Food has been doing a great job lately. At first I was kinda meh with them, but I've thoroughly enjoyed the past couple of boxes. Love with food is a gourmet snack subscription box that has been around for awhile, well as far as subscription boxes go.  It is $12 a month, but the price goes down when you buy longer plans. This box is special because they donate a meal with every box, so that should make you feel awesome.

Use code FBGIFT for two bucks of your first month (basically free shipping). I didn't feel right putting coupon in the title of the post since it is only for two bucks.

 This month's theme was "Under the Boardwalk." I think they're trying to go with fun summer themes for now.

KuKuRuZa Gourmet Hawaiian Salted Caramel Popcorn ($3.00?)- Salted Caramel seems to be all the rage, and I love it! Salty and sweet make a perfect combo in my book.  This was a lot better than the popcorn they sent in another box, because you could actually taste salt in this one!

Uncle Henry's Handmade Pretzel ($0.50?)- This was like a giant version of mini pretzels (like Rold Gold).  I liked it, but I think it may have been too crunchy.

Lord Nut Levington Spicy Bloody Mary Peanuts ($1.17)- I haven't tried these yet, but it sounds terrific, I love spicy things.

Nature's Bakery Strawberry Fig Bar ($1.75)- These were awesome. Kinda like fig newtons, only better. The strawberry flavor was definitely noticeable, and really complimented the fig. 

RealSticks BBQ flavor ($0.82)- I was a slim jim addict as a child, and this was like a step up from them. It had an awesome smoky flavor.  

Twangerz Snack Toppings ($0.25)- This was probably the most interesting thing in the box. It is actually different flavors of salt. The ones I got were Lime, Chili Lime, Lemon Lime, and Pickle. I had the Lemon Lime on some popcorn with some ranch powder and it tasted awesome.  

Angel Mint Orange Salt Water Taffy ($0.72)- I really like salt water taffy. This was no exception. It was sweet, soft, and delicious.

Necco Wafers ($0.20)- I find it funny that it says "The original candy wafer" on the packaging. Because there are literally no other candy wafers out there. And Necco things aren't very good, just for the nostalgia.

Hello Fresh $25 off "gift card"-  I am not sure if they deliver to my state yet, so I'll see if I can put this to use. 

The total value of this box was $8.41. This was a pretty sub par value, but I loved the products and how they matched with the theme.  And the meal costs something I'm sure, but probably not $3.50.

Verdict: Pretty good although the value was lower than usual.

June Jungle Stand Tasting BAR Review

I am really liking. The Jungle Stand.  It is a tasting "BAR" that offers a unique tasting experience. Each BAR is priced at $9.92 a month, and I think that price is fair since I have never felt ripped off by them. This is my third box and I think this was my favorite box from them so far. . This box is really great for having fun with family and/or friends (party hard!). 

This month's theme was Taste of Taiwan. I was psyched about this theme. You all probably know now that I love asian food.  It is just way better than all other foods in my opinion. I probably sound super biased right now.

Sachima- This was fantastic. It was kinda like a rice krispy treat, but was really light and melted in your mouth. This had a strong caramel flavor.  But I really can't get over how great this was.  I am definitely buying it the next time I make a trip to the ole asian market.

Rice Cracker- I've gotten this in the Skoshbox Promo Box, and a past dumplingbox. It is pretty much a classic.  But this one is more sweet than savory.

Sesame Pastry- This was very similar to the banh cam I made recently (recipe here, it was really good. If you are confused on the name, just call them sesame balls). Except my banh cam had a bean filling, this was very airy in the middle.  But the flavor on the outside was the same. I also really liked the texture of this, very light.

Squid- I love squid! I eat squid jerky all the time with a spicy sauce. This tasted good, once you got past the fishy taste.  It is kinda sweet tasting, that's why I usually eat it with a spicy sauce. 

Pumpkin Cake- I got two of these, but I'm not complaining because they were awesome. The pumpkin flavor was very subtle.  I wouldn't describe it as a cake, but whatever.

Peanut Brittle- This was ok, I thought it was a bit hard.

Overall, I loved my June tasting bar, and it was definitely worth the ten bucks. My favorite thing was the Sachima, but the Sesame Pastry was a close second.

Verdict: Awesome Box.

June Yumvelope Review

Yumvelope is a monthly subscription service for gourmet snacks.  As you probably know by now, I love me some snacks. 

At first you can get one box for $21.00 plus $3 shipping.  They won't sign you up for a subscription automatically so that is nice.  Then you can subscribe for a month to month subscription for just $21 a month. You can even purchase a six month subscription for $126 which includes some sort of  bonus shipment.  Hint Hint, the bonus shipment is just a bonus month, so the $126 gets you basically a seven month subscription!

Another cool feature of this box is that they donate a meal every month like Love With Food. That is always a clear selling point for me, so I think they should market that aspect of the box more.  Most people probably don't even know that they do that.

TeeChia Blueberry Date Cereal ($3.50)- I didn't particularly enjoy these cereals. I thought it was like an oatmeal, but you don't have to cook it actually. You just add water and some sort of dairy. The end product tasted quite bitter and a bit soggy, but I would probably end up picking this up at the store If I didn't know what it tasted like, so I am glad the Yumvelope spared me from that experience.

TeeChia Cinnamon Cranberry Cereal ($3.50)- I don't really want to eat this, so not sure what I'll do with it either. 

The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies in the World ($1.80)- I really liked these. You were supposed to let the bag sit open for a couple minutes before eating to let the cookies "breathe." I thought that was weird, but these were really good.  I liked the texture because it wasn't too hard and was kinda buttery.  The chocolate was good and I was glad that there wasn't too much chocolate.  Because I hate it when I bite into a chocolate chip cookie and all I get is basically a cookie shell with molten chocolate on the inside.

Eat Green Tea ($25)- This is really interested. I was very disappointed when I pulled this out of the envelope because I thought it was tea. Turns out this is tea meant for eating.  You are supposed to sprinkle it on top of stuff to add extra nutrients, antioxidants, and other good green tea stuff. This smells really good, but I tried it on its own and it wasn't pleasant. But I don't think it is meant to be eaten like that anyways.

(2) TeeCino Tea Bags in Dandelion Dark Roast and Dandelion Caramel Nut ($1.20)- The caramel sounds interesting, and I'll probably give away the other one. 

(2) Dave's Midnite Cookie in Lemon Coconut and Ginger Molasses- These were pretty good. The flavor on both were nice. But the ginger was a little dense. The lemon was much better in texture.

The total value of this was $39! Best Yumvelope value I'd ever seen.

Verdict: My subscription is over now and I am thinking of resubscribing.

Well this has nothing to do with the yumvelope, but Guess What I just found at my aunt's house hiding in a corner! A gigantic box filled with big bags of Mini Pops. I had the mini pops in a LWF box and they were tasty. So I'm pretty Jelly that she has so much. 

June Love With Food Review

Love with Food is a fairly popular gourmet food monthly subscription service. One of the reasons why it is so popular is most likely the relatively cheap cost. This box costs $12 monthly total and can go as low as $10 with an annual plan. What differentiates this box from other food boxes is that for every box they deliver, they donate a meal to a hungry child in America. This month was particularly special because they donated two meals with every box!

There are a lot of discounts online for LWF. Once I found one for $15 for a 3-month subscription. So if the $12 seems too pricey, just keep your eyes peeled for discounts!

This month's theme was "Summer Beach Bash"

 This month's box was packed!

Seaweed Love Olive Oil Roasted Seaweed ($2.75)- I loved this. Seaweed is one of my most favorite foods, so this was a favorite snack also.  It had a good amount of salt, and was a nice, light snack. I just wish somehow it would be filling, but I guess that isn't really possible. 

Smooze Mango and Coconut Fruit Ice ($2.33)- I haven't tried this yet but it sounds great.

Turbana Sweet Plantain Chips ($1.42)- I liked the salty ones they sent in a previous box, but these weren't terrible. I just thought they could use some salt.

Soyjoy in Mango Coconut ($1.19)- Oh Soyjoy, I remember I would always eat these in elementary school. I would eat them and lie through my teeth and say they were good. I don't know why I pretended they were good, I think I just liked the name and the advertisements for these. I find them a bit dry, but they aren't as bad as I remember. 

Do More Pineapple Coconut Cereal Bar ($1.92)- This was awesome! It was like a rice cereal treat, just with an awesome pineapple coconut flavor. 

Surf Sweets ($1.25)- I was expecting these to be sour, but I was kinda sad that they weren't. They were really sweet and had a nice texture. I ordered more of these for free with my rewards points. Some sour flavor comes when you order them so I'm looking forward to that. 

2 Hillside Go Organic Hard Candy ($0.50?)- These were really good. I liked that they actually tasted like fruit. The flavors on these were interesting, blood orange and green apple. Well, mostly just the blood orange.

Flavrz Organic Drink Mix ($2.50)- Water flavorings are great when water gets to boring. This was pretty awesome, added a fruity flavor to the water. I got more of these in this month's conscious box, and I was happy to have that (review coming soon for the conscious box).

1 pack Pur Gum in Pomegranate Mint ($1.80)- Aspartame free gum seems to be all the rage these days. But I guess I like it because I don't really want cancer.  I liked the flavor, I just wish it lasted longer! That seems to be the problem with all the aspartame free gums.

The total value of this box is $15.66! This is the best LWF value I'd ever seen so far. I liked all the products too!

Verdict: Excellent box, good job LWF. 

June Fancy Food Box Review

The Fancy Food box is one of my favorite subscriptions right now. It is one of the many offered by thefancy.com , and this one specializes in food. It costs $39 a month plus shipping, but the value always exceeds the cost by a considerable amount.  I don't think there are any coupon codes for it right now, which saddens me. 

 I think this box is always red.

Rufus Teague Honey Sweet Sauce ($7)- I needed a new barbeque sauce to discover, so this came in the perfect time! It is pretty sweet, but not overwhelmingly so.  I might make some barbeque stuff with it next week.

Morris Kitchen Ginger Syrup ($12.00)- I tried this on its own, and it was super strong! But that is not the way it is meant to be consumed. You can make many things with this like your own ginger ale, even some weird relaxing tea thing.  I love ginger ale a lot, so I am happy with this. 

Tin Mustard ($7)- Dang! This mustard is really potent. And I don't know what I'll use it on.

Rick's Picks Handy Corn Relish ($10)- Let me start out by saying that this does not look appetizing one bit. But it tastes pretty good. I may just use it in place of relish.

Cookie Assortment by the Cravory ($2)- I don't know why it says assortment on the card, because it is just one cookie. Anyways, I got lemon flavor, and it was slightly squished from the mailing.  But the taste was fantastic! I often find that lemon flavor things taste too sugary, and this had the perfect amount, and it tasted awesome.

Salty Road Vanilla Salt Water Taffy ($6.50)- I am a bit dissapointed that I didn't get the salty carmel flavor, but these candies are still tasty.  I like that they have some saltiness to them.

Pop Chomper ($14)- I actually really like this! The wood scares me though, as it feels a bit splintery.  I don't know if I would pay fourteen bucks for this, so I guess I am glad it came in this box!

The total value of this box is about $58.50.  This is a bit low for this box, but I was happy with the products. I am thinking about skipping out on the next box because my refrigerator is running out of room for all this stuff. These are full size jars with lots of food that takes a long time to use. I am still working on the salsa from the first box!

Verdict: The fancy food box is probably my favorite subscription from the fancy. 

May Jungle Stand Review

I am starting to really like The Jungle Stand.  It is a tasting "BAR" that offers a unique tasting experience. This is my second box and although I didn't like it as much as last month, it was still fun. This box is really great for having fun with family and/or friends (party hard!).

This month had a game show theme. All the contents in the box were brownie crisps, and they all had a secret flavor to them. You were instructed to pencil in the correct flavor after eating each one.  And let me tell you, a second grader could probably get these right, it was super obvious even by only smelling them.

Toffee Crunch Crisp- My favorite crisp in the box! I am a huge fan of toffee, and you could definitely taste, and see, the little chunks of it in the brownie. Tasty, I wanted more.

Chocolate Chip Crisp- This one was pretty good. Chocolate chips go well with more chocolate, but wasn't too spectacular.

Mint Crisp- Meh, I don't like mint that much, but I'm sure someone would love this if they loved the combo.

Cinnamon Cappuccino Crisp- Probably my second favorite. I usually drink coffee black, so it was a bit to sweet for me. But it was still enjoyable.

Orange Crisp- This may be tied with the toffee for me. I remember getting chocolate oranges all the time at holidays, and I always loved the combo of chocolate and orange ever since. Some people don't dig the combo, and I don't see how they don't.

Chipotle Crisp- Holy moly, this was terrible. If body odor had a taste, it would taste like this. Seriously, it was that bad. 

I wasn't too impressed with this box because there wasn't much variety, but it was pretty good. I think I'll stick around for more.

Verdict: I'll stick around. 

May Goodies Co. Review

Goodies Co. is a pretty awesome snacky subscription box owned by Walmart. The reason for its excellence and success, in my opinion, is how cheap it is. Every box comes at the very reasonable price of $7 including shipping!  This is a box that comes a bit later in the month, around the 20th.  Goodies hasn't been around for too long, but they already feel like a veteran box, probably since they have marketing geniuses working for them.  You get points for providing feedback about the product that you can use to buy full-size products in their shop.

There are some little downsides to goodies. You have to wait 2-4 weeks to be able to subscribe.  You first sign up for an invite, then play the waiting game.  And the only other negative I can think of is that the website slows down all mobile devices A LOT. Like my text doesn't show up until five seconds after I've typed it. But that isn't something I would unsubscribe for by any means. 

 Full Size in a $7 box: awesome.

Bronco Bobs Cranberry Chipotle Sauce ($1.50)- I love anything involving spice usually, and this was no exception.  Well actually, I didn't love love it, but it was pleasant.  It tastes great on crackers.  

Beanitos Nacho Cheese ($1.00)- I usually don't like anything related to beans, but these were pretty good. The bean flavor was subtle enough for me to enjoy this.  I'm just not sure how I feel about the flavor. I liked the flavor of the ones I got in a healthy surprise before.  

Zico Coconut Water ($4.34)- I love coconut water so much! I find it just the perfect refreshment. I was ecstatic when I found this in the box.  

Free Wholly Guacamole Product up to $6.50 ($3.00)- I am only counting this for three dollars because these products were on sale when I used this coupon for three dollars, so that is what I got out of  this coupons.  But this brand is pretty good, for store bought guacamole. I like that they offer single serving snack packs.

Sour Power Straws in Strawberry ($1.00)- I loved these! These had a huge nostalgia factor for me, because I loved sour punch straws as a kid. I also liked that these actually tasted like strawberry, not artificial. 

Sour Power Straws with a bunch of flavors ($1.00)- Mmmm... So good, same as above, tasted actually like fruit!

(2) California EVOO packets ($1.20)- I really don't know how to judge olive oil properly, since I don't notice flavor differences when I change olive oil brands. So I can't give a proper review of these. I can tell you that they will be used though. 

(Not Pictured) Moroccan Mint Numi Tea ($0.36)- This was hiding in the bottom of the box, so I didn't get it pictured.  Anyways, I just gave away a gift box of a bunch of  my teas including this one. The person was happy, so that's good I guess.

The total value of this box is $14.35. This is a great value considering it is double what I payed! I don't know why one wouldn't subscribe.

Verdict: Goodies Co. is a great box, even for people with a strict-ish budget. 

May Yumvelope Review

Yumvelope is a food subscription with a really awesome name, one of the best in my opinion, just so clever! It costs $21 a month for a month to month subscription, but you can sign up for a six month subscription for $126 which includes some special bonus still kind of unclear to me.  They also donate a meal with every envelope sold, and that is always awesome. It is never a bad thing when anyone does that.

I have really liked my past Yumvelopes because they always send super awesome products that you don't see very much anywhere else!  Every month, usually contains one big ticket/full size item and a bunch of smaller ones in a box.

 Every month is shipped in a Priority Mail Envelope. 

Cristoforo Organic Sprouted Spelt Sourdough Crackers ($3.75)- These are a little plain, but then again, crackers aren't usually the most flavor packed things in the world.  I am sure they would taste a lot better with some sort of spread on top. It would've been awesome if Yumvelope sent something to go with it.  Maybe I'll try it with the chipotle jam I got in this month's Goodies.co (review coming soon).

Cristoforo Hazelnut Biscotti ($2.31)- Meh, this OK biscottii.  The best biscotti came in a Yumvelope, February I think? But all biscotti tastes good with my morning chai, tasty.

Cristoforo Almond Biscotti ($2.25)- Same as above

Lush Nuts Coconut Lavender ($4.50- These are interesting. I can't taste the lavender much, which may be a good thing.  It is just kind of a weird flavor combo. But I'm not the biggest fan of almonds.  

Urban Raccoons Gluten Free Granola Bar in Cranberry Maple Almond ($2.00)- This was a bit dry, but had an interesting texture altogether. There were granules of these perfect spheres that I couldn't identify. Some of it was a little bland, but the parts with cranberries were yummy.

Halfpops in Sea Salt & Butter ($1.49)- These were interesting. I always pick at the half-popped kernels at the bottom of the popcorn bag. This is essentially a bag full of them! At first I hated it, then I just couldn't stop eating them!  Weird, but good. 

The total value of this box is about $16.30. Meh, this is a pretty low value for Yumvelope  But they do donate, and these products you wouldn't usually find in stores (except the halfpops).  Well it is still a bit under par in my book.

Verdict: This box was a bit under par, but I still like the subscription. 

May Fancy Food Box Review + $20 Off Coupon

Everyone jump for joy! Subscription box season (the 10th to the end of the month) is starting.  And my season started with one of my favorite boxes of all time, the Fancy Food box. This is one of the many subscriptions that The Fancy offers. Some other Fancy boxes include: the Jennifer Love Hewitt  Coca Rocha, and Ashton Kutcher A+ Box.  So far, the food one is definitely my favorite, probably because I love food so much (but you probably couldn't tell). 

All fancy subscriptions cost $39 a month plus shipping. The food box doesn't ship internationally  but the other ones do, not sure about the Tyler Florence one because that could have food in it.  Use code 20OFF16 to get $20 off any box!

Sir Kensington Chipotle Mayonnaise ($10)- This is tasty! I am a huge fan of pretty much anything spicy, so this appealed to me a great deal.  It is a great way to add zing to anything normal mayonnaise would taste good on!

Dave's Gourmet Butternut Squash Pasta Sauce ($9)- I usually find butternut squash too sweet to go with a main course, but this had the perfect amount of sweetness. It not only had squash, but it also had some garlic and marinara flavor also.

(2) Chocolate Mexicano Discs ($9)- I really liked the texture of these. It almost tasted granual-y, but in a good way.  The quality also was great. If you're wondering, they came in a vanilla flavor, and a salted almond flavor.

Field Trip Teriyaki Beef Jerky ($6)- Am I the only one who gets super excited when they see beef jerky in a subscription box? No, OK? Only me? Whatever.  Well, I wish these had a bit more zing, but the quality was awesome, like most items in this box.

(2) 479 popcorn in Black Truffle White Cheddar (big bag) and Salted Caramel (little one) ($5.41)- These are delicious! I have to say that the truffle is better than the carmel in my opinion.  The caramel tasted pretty ordinary, while the truffle tasted truly unique. 

Apron Cooking Guide ($25)- This is actually pretty neat. On the bottom of the apron, there are upside-down instructions like weight conversions and cooking times, so you can read them while you cook! I will actually use this because I often end up looking up conversions online while cooking. This will make the job much easier.

The total value of this box is about $64.41. This is a pretty great value, especially if you used the coupon. Plus, most of these things aren't readily available in stores. This is truly one of my favorite boxes now!

Verdict: This box is fricken amazing!

April Tyler Florence Fancy Box Review

Fancy has so many subscriptions now, and this is their most recent one.  This is the first Tyler Florence Fancy Box, and it was pretty awesome, so I signed up for another month.  All Fancy subscriptions so far cost $39 dollars a month, plus shipping.   A coupon code for twenty dollars off was going around recently (it was 20OFF14, and I used it to buy this box for next month), but I tried to use it again and it would not work.  

All of the fancy boxes also have a promised value of at least 80+ dollars worth of stuff (except for the food one).  I find it weird that the one I like the most (the food one) is the one with the lowest value, I guess I just love food that much. I expected this box to have cooking supplies, a cookbook, and some food item, and I wasn't too far off!  I also love that fancy includes a little card for each product with a picture, a short description, and a note from the curator on why they choose it. 

 I am really enjoying these new colored fancy boxes!

Sunny Side Out Egg Separator, also called pluck ($13)-  I personally don't have a hard time separating eggs, but this might make the whole experience cleaner, per say.  Sometimes the whites get all over my counter, so, on second thought, this may be useful. It is also dishwasher safe, which is always a plus. 

Brass Knuckles Meat Tenderizer ($15)- How Clever! A meat tenderizer that has you use your fists.  This is pretty darn cool, and it will be used.

Sparq Whiskey Rocks ($20)- I always pass by these on kickstarter, and think about buying them but never actually do.  So I was very happy to see these in my box! I hate how water waters beverages down.

Tyler Florence "Fresh" Cookbook ($35)-  When I first pulled this out, I just thought "Well cookbooks always come in handy." But when I read Liz's review of this, I found out it was signed by Tyler Florence himself on the inside cover! Now that I looked inside, the recipes in it sound really awesome. 

The total value of this box is $83.  These are also products you wouldn't find anywhere, especially the signed cookbook. So overall, this box was super awesome!

Verdict- The Tyler Florence Fancy Box is one of the best fancy subscriptions in my opinion!

April Jungle Stand Tasting BAR Review

The Jungle Stand is a new-ish subscription box unlike any that I have heard of.  Each month they send you what is called a tasting BAR, six different bite-sized samples for you to taste, and more importantly, experience. This box costs $9.92 a month and is billed on the 1st of each month. The shipping is different for everyone, they start shipping the first week, and don't stop until all orders have been fulfilled.  I love food, and interesting flavors, so I was quick to jump on this subscription box!

They give a big info card about all the samples in the box, and say how to taste them. In this box, because it had a treasure hunt theme, had one food that was considered the "Diamond of the Kitchen." They encouraged you to guess which one it was, and there was an "X" at the bottom of the box that said which one was!

P.S, these pictures make the food look really ugly and unappetising  but I promise you that most of it was quite tasty and fresh.

Stuffed Mushrooms- These were one of my favorite things in the box. They were jumbo mushrooms sorted in canola oil and stuffed with a cream cheese and red pepper mixture.  The mushroom had a very strong flavor, which was supposed to be umami (savory), and it definitely was.  It almost tasted like meat.  The cream cheese mix added a really nice creamy flavor the da shrooms. 

Truffle and Cheese Stuffed Olives-  These were the the "Diamond in the Kitchen."  I love truffle a lot, but I didn't really like these.  Something was just off putting about the flavor to me. 

Blue Cheese Olives-  These were green olives stuffed with a zesty bleu cheese.  These were pretty tasty.  I used to avoid bleu cheese like the plague, but I am starting to appreciate its flavor.  So these were pretty dang good in my opinion.

Pepperballs- Sweet picante peppers imported from South Africa stuffed with cream cheese and moistened with canola oil. These peppers were my favorite thing in the box! The peppers themselves were slightly sweet and slightly hot.  And again, the cream cheese added some nice creaminess.

Red Mini Peppers- Red peppers cut into small tips and stuffed with cream cheese.  I think we should rename this box "The olives, and miscellaneous things stuffed with cream cheese. But these peppers were delicious.  The card recommended eating them with crackers, and they also provided some.  On top of the crackers are these provided tweezer things that I used to eat all the samples in the box.  I thought it was pretty handy that they included these extras.

Greek Olives- The third olive in the box! Good thing I love olives, and these were no exception   The little feta cheese chunks you may see were tasty also, and the flavor from those transferred into the olives a little and gave them a cheesy tone to them.

Overall, I loved my first Jungle Stand Box! It was a very unique experience to try everything.  If this box didn't sound like your cup of tea because of all the olives and peppers, don't worry because I know they change their boxes up a lot.  Last month's box was something like "Bakers of the world," and it had a bunch of sweet treats.  I will definitely keep this box!

Verdict- This box was awesome! Very unique also. I would definitely recommend it!

March Fancy Box Food Review

The Fancy Food box is a monthly subscription service offered by the thefancy.com. Fancy currently offers several subscription boxes. The normal one, Ashton Kutcher, P!nk, and Coca Rocha Boxes. I stumbled across a coupon on mysubscriptionaddiction.com for $25 off one box (not available any more). I decided to get the food box because I am a full fledged foodie.

This fancy box regularly costs $39 monthly plus shipping. For me shipping was only $2, so with the coupon code I only paid $17 dollars for this box. The contents of this box were so awesome, I want to keep my subscription. Even though I was a little skeptical at first, this box was totally awesome!

I also wanted to mention how fast this box shipped! I got a shipping notification email Friday night and got the box Saturday morning! Really nice surprise!

The contents of the box with retail value:

Toasted Almond Biscotti by Biscottie Di Vechio ($9.95)- This came with 8 pieces of fairly large biscotti! The only ingredients in this were flour, sugar, lemon zest, and almonds. I am usually not a huge fan of biscotti, but this was really good. You could really taste all the ingredients.

The Tropical by The Brooklyn Salsa Company ($7)- I had a gigantic bag of tortilla chips I just bought, so this fancy box came just in time. It is pretty good for a less chunky salsa. I really liked the addition of fruits like oranges and coconut milk.

Passion Flower Serenitea ($15)- Ah, what food subscription box would be complete without tea! I haven't tried this yet but it seems interesting. It isn't caffeinated so I can drink it before bed.

Qginger Ginger Ale ($2 when bought in a pack of 24)- Dangit Fancy Box! I might never be able to drink "normal" ginger ale ever again! I love ginger ale and this was fantastic. It had a pretty strong ginger taste unlike other ginger ales. It wasn't too sweet either. I couldn't drink it all in one sitting because the ginger taste was really strong, but in a good way.

Qkola Cola ($2 when bought in pack of 24)- I haven't tried this yet, but by the taste of the ginger ale, I think this is gonna be awesome too!

Chorizo Seco by Charlito's Cocina ($16.67)- I always like when they send meat in subscription boxes, it gives the box more of a gourmet feel. This was really good also. I had it thinly sliced on a baguette like the card said, and it packed in a lot of flavor. I'll also try it with scrambled eggs. It feels really high quality.

A pack of 2 chocolate Bon Bons by Fine & Raw Chocolate ($8)- Dang, this is expensive chocolate. It tasted good for chocolate, but I expected more by how much it costs. Still good though.

Drunken Monkey Jam by The Jam Stand ($10)- Yum! This was really good jam. I like how the only ingredients were bananas, sugar, lime, and a splash of rum. It was sweet but not to sweet. Again, you could taste all of the ingredients. I might try to make this myself, but it probably won't turn out as good.

The total value of this box was $70.62, what a great value! This box was so fun to unbox, it felt like a Christmas present. This is one of my favorite boxes now!

Verdict- If you like food, and are willing to spend $39 a month, you should definitely subscribe!
