June Loot Crate Review

Loot crate is a really popular geek/gamer subscription box.  This box has gained a considerable following over the year (almost) it has been out.  Part of the reason for that, I believe, that this box is very unique.  Although there is another box that in the same category of it called booty bin. I predict more to come like Loot Crate.

Well, anyways, this box costs $19.37 a month including shipping. They ship on the 20th of each month, and their boxes usually ship pretty fast to me (priority mail I think).  Each month, one subscriber will win a "Mega Crate," which is filled with over $250 worth of value! I really hope someday I will get a mega-crate to review. 

This month's theme was mash-up. So it supposedly has two unrelated geeky things and they get well, mashed together.

 I had a  hard time putting this all together. 

Dead Pool-aid Tee ($22)- This shirt really isn't my style. My dad liked it but sadly it didn't fit him because I set the shirt size to my size. 

Bic 2 in 1 Stylus Pen ($6)- This fits the mashup theme pretty well. I just don't think I would ever use this. This is because I don't ever use styluses, ever really. I don't see the point of them, unless you are playing draw something.

Loot Crate Wall Tangram ($7.50)- This is kinda neat. But my arrangement on my wall didn't turn out as good as I wanted it to. But the good part about this is that you can take it down and put it back up whenever.

Comikaze %20 off Coupon- I'm not geeky enough to go to Comikaze, so this will probably go to waste. The code was LOOTCRATE if anyone wants to use it.

Loot Crate Bot Sticker($0.50)- I really have no place to put stickers. And this bot kinda creeps me out.

(2) Warhead Candies ($0.50)- I am super resistant to sour candies because I at an eff ton of warheads once. That being said, these are still good.  Pretty much a classic.

Help a Brother Out Sticker ($0.50)- Everyone else got only one of these, hmmmm. But as I mentioned before, I don't have a place to stick these.

Loot Crate 8-bit Sunglasses ($5)- They sent these in different colors in the second 8-bit themed crate.  But I look pretty dang weird in these, but I know someone who may like them. 

The total value of this box was $42. Daang, the second highest all-time value of loot crate. The first crate had one over $50, and that may have made all subsequent boxes a disappointment.  I am honestly getting bored with this subscription. But I AM NOT saying I hate it. This box will make people a very happy camper every month, it may be the highlight of their month. It just isn't for me.

Verdict: I cancelled, maybe I'll want it in the future.

I really hope someday I will get a mega-crate to review.  I won't count on it though, since they have way more subscribers, and the number keeps growing, along with my chances *sigh*.This months box was an equipment themed crate aptly titled "equip."  This category is very broad, so I didn't know what to expect.

But some of the items can be too nerdy for me. I don't get a lot of the references they make, nor was I a fan of the stuff they give me.  I am also running out of space to put all the stuff. And most of my friends wouldn't like it.

Don't Panic Towel ($6.50)- I already have a gym towel, so I don't know when this will come in handy. I don't know someone to give it away to either.

1 Year Digital Subscription to Pure Nintendo ($10)- I have never actually heard of Pure Nintendo. I wish it was print, but digital isn't bad.

Ninja Cord Wrap ($2.00)- I wasn't sure how to wrap my headphones around this because it kept falling out. It is supposed to have "amazing grip" according to the card, apparently not. And then I lost if shortly after trying to wrap headphones around it. Sad. 

Super Mario Coin Candies ($4.00)- This was probably my favorite thing in the box. Because I can just display it, and who doesn't like mario?

DC Batman Figure ($4.25)- This is what I was talking about before where some things are too nerdy. I have noo idea what I will ever do with this honestly.

Inanimate Stickers ($1)- These are kinda fun. You are supposed to stick them on to inanimate objects to make them animated! Now I just have to think what to use them on.

8 Bit Bow Tie ($5)- I am pretty sure I will never use this. First of all, I usually don't go with bow ties. Even if I did, I would try to keep it class. This actually isn't unclassy because it isn't obvious at first glance. But not really my style. 

Papercraft Iron Man ($1)- I am too lazy to cut this out now, and I wish it was perforated so I could rip it easy. It'll probably look super messed up after I do this craft.

The total value of this box was $33.75. This is a great value, but I am just kinda getting bored of this box, and I am on the verge of cancelling. My subscription renews in July, so I guess we'll see then. 

Verdict: On the fence.

As you can probably tell, the names are quite similar.  I contacted Loot Crate about this and, they said he founder of Booty Bin was, at one point, a subscriber of Loot Crate. Peculiar...

 I love the design on these boxes!

Street Fighter Mini Series Blind Box ($10)- Ah, Street Fighter, I never completely knew how to play you, I just basically button-mashed everything.  Nevertheless, it was still fun. This little box contained a mini figurine of a street fighter character with different rarities for each character.  It's a mystery box in a mystery box!

Collectible Mushroom Kingdom Racing ($7??)- I can't find this anywhere online except other Loot Crate Reviews! But this bag thing is pretty awesome.  I used to play Mario Kart all the time (and sometimes still do).  But I also remember not being very good at it... Well then, I still like the bag.

Street Fighter Enamel Keychain Blind Bag ($5)- As I said above, Street Fighter is awesome.  Sadly, I don't use key chains very often.

8-Bit Zombie Arcade Token ($3)-  Arcade tokens were always something I couldn't get enough of.  I mean, did anyone ever say they had too many arcade tokens in an arcade. I think not. But I don't know what to do with this, but it sure has that nostalgia factor.

Retro Game Candy- I am not going to count this in the value since it's probably super cheap. I think these were here for mostly the nostalgia factor, and boy did this give me nostalgia. I love both of these candies, even if they don't taste the best, I still like them for some reason.

An arcade ticket from Loot Crate- We are supposed to keep this code because throughout this week, Loot Crate will give out prizes. Fingers Crossed!

Space Invaders Candy With Collectible Tin ($7)-  Space invaders was always a weirdly addicting game to me.  I didn't really like to play it, but I just couldn't stop.  Anyways, more shtuffs to put in my little Loot Crate collection.

This was the figurine I got.  This figurine is put in 1 in every 20 boxes, so not the most rare, but not the least by far. 

The Keychain I got (Chun-Li vs. Vega)

The total value of this box is about $32. This is a pretty great value considering that one wouldn't find many of these things in an average grocery store.  I have been loving my loot crates lately and I plan to stay subscribed!

Verdict- Loot Crate is awesome!
