June Gluten Free Conscious Box Review + Coupon

Conscious Box is a monthly subscription service for people who have the desire to be more environmentally conscious, hence the name. I'd say the box isn't really for me, but I would think it would be great for people seeking to reduce their overall carbon footprint.  It is $19.99 a month, including shipping and handling, and can go lower with the three and six month plans.  

I got the Gluten Free box for variety sake, but my box seems to just be worse than others. For example last month, mine was just filled with samples. Everyone else got a free full sized earthpaste while I just got a sample. And I didn't get anything extra besides it.  And my conscious box mystery box had less stuff than others. Maybe they just have a bias towards me, but that's unlikely. 

Use Code FIRSTONEFREE to get your first box free, but you still have to pay $7.95 shipping and handling.  Yes it is kind of deceiving but it is still saving you money possibly. 

I'm not gonna list values for this because most of the stuff is samples. The value is probably around the cost of the box. But this box isn't really about value, it's about discovering new products.

 I told you they had a bias! Just kidding, but my box came all wet and stuff this month. I was assuming it was because of the rain, but then I realized that made no sense because the outer box wasn't wet.  But then I opened up the box to reveal the two culprits.  But this isn't that bad because conscious box is sending me a replacement box, so don't think about not subscribing because of this.

This Nature's Baby Bubble Bath was completely empty! So the whole thing just came out. But what I really don't understand is why there wasn't a safety seal on this. Maybe conscious box continued their bias against me and put poison in the bubble bath and that's why the seal wasn't there thus resulting in the leakage. 

The Sneakz Chocolate Milkshake also leaked! This one not as much, but some of the bubble bath got in and made it kinda soapy.

Blue Sage Naturals Sea Buckthorn Soap- I gave this to my sister and she was pleased.

2 Sleep Squares- Wow, these tasted nasty. At first it tasted like nice minty chocolate, but it was the aftertaste that got ya.  It was kinda weird and chemically. But it did help sleep, it just felt like melatonin. 

Chicken Poop Lip Balm- I guess they call it chicken poop to attract attention because they can't advertise on television. But I think it is a pretty good chap stick.

$50 Wine Gift Card from Naked Wines- I think I've gotten like five of these! But I've never used them because you have to spend money.

Four Organic flavrs in Superfruit Sport and Citrus Hibiscus- I love these things. I got them in this month's Love With Food, and loved them ever since! They remind me of mio, but a lot healthier. They taste really good, and not too healthy, which is a good quality in most cases. 

2 Skout Organic Trailbars- These are OK, they taste a little dry.  But I still ate them.

Rise Coconut Energy Bar- Energy in a tiny coconut flavored bar? Sounds good to me. Haven't tried it yet. But I definitely will.

Bottle Bright- This tablet thing is used for cleaning water bottles. The dishwasher often times leaves spots on water bottles, and some water bottles aren't dishwasher safe. Plus handwashing them is a pain. Bottle Bright removes that pain! I don't think I would buy this on a regular basis, but it is nice to try.

Lotus Moon Hibiscus Flower Hydrating Lotion-I gave this away, and they were pleased.

Son for men Soothe- This is awesome! It is supposed to help with razor bumps and ingrown hairs. Ingrown hairs kinda freak me out, so I really like this. 

Overall, I thought this box was kinda meh. Maybe I'll like it better without the water damage. Probably not that much. But this box really isn't for me. I am satisfied since I got this at 50% off but I will most likely cancel next month when my subscription expires. 

Verdict: Not the box for me, but it would be awesome for some. 

Mystery Conscious Box Review

Conscious Box was just recently offering a mystery box "stupendously stuffed" with extra stuff they had.  I decided to make the purchase because I knew the value would be there and past mystery boxes have been pretty awesome.  This box was a one-time-purchase dealio and I am a sucker for those things, since I don't really like recurring payments (kinda ironic I know).

This box costed $19.99 but I bought it in combination with a 3 month subscription to their gluten-free box and used the 50% off code, so this box only costed me around $10. I'm not going to put the retail values in (yet, maybe) because there were too many sample sized things that were almost impossible to find a value on! But I can assure you that the value is greater than the cost of the box.

And P.S, my pictures for these kinda suck for some reason.

 So many samples!!

All Natural Freekeh Roasted Green Wheat- I really do not know what to do with this. It reminds me of chia or hemp seeds because they all have a lot of protein. I just hope this doesn't end up sitting and never being used.

Sahale Snacks Cashews-  I have received these a few times and they are pretty tasty.  They are cashews with this kinda sticky and delicious fruity coating.  I always enjoy these delicious little treats!

Cuppow- This little doohicky turns mason jars into a drinking mug! I feel like I would look like a complete hipster (dufus) bringing this into class one day.  But who knows, I just may do it.

Peeled Snacks appleclusters- I had these in another conscious box and they are so yummy! I love freeze dried fruits, so these were a sure shot for me liking them.  They are very crunchy and have a nice apple cinnamon flavor to them.

1 Packet of Eboost- In the last three boxes I got, I have received at least one packet of Eboost (reviews of those coming soon).  I am not complaining, since I like them.

Rock the Green Laundry Detergent-  I haven't tried this yet, but it sounds like a pretty nice laundry detergent.

1 bag Stash and Good Nature beTea-  Ugh, more tea. 'Nuff Said.

1 Little bag of Lush Nuts- I got these in a Yumvelope and they are OK. The flavor is good and all, but they are a little stale in my opinion.

Dill Dip Mix- I am not a huge fan of dill, but my Dad sure is, so he will hopefully appreciate it.

Pamela's BAking Pancake Mix-  I had their brownie mix before and it was delicious! I am expecting the same  for this.

Teeccino Maya Chocolate Organic Coffee- It isn't that often where you recieve coffee in a non-coffee sub box, so I was happy to see this. It sounds interesting also.

I was really worried that I would get all products I received before and it seemed that it wasn't the case. And most of these products will be used. The value seems to be good, but it doesn't seem as great as the previous mystery box.

Verdict: Conscious Mystery Boxes are always pretty good!

March Conscious Box Review

Conscious box is a montly subscription service that specializes in eco-friendly products.  This box is pretty popular in the whole subscription box world. There are many people in today's society that are looking for more eco-friendly ways to live.  I think this box would be perfect for those types of people!

This box always sends lots of samples to try!

Disposable iPhone Sleeves by Chef Sleeve ($10)- These will come in handy if I plan on going someplace wet or dirty (get your mind out of the gutter, gosh!).  But I'm wondering how people will react to these if they don't have an iPhone.  I suppose they will work if their phone is close to the same size.

Wheatgrass Shot by Agro Labs ($3.33)- This was actually pretty tasty and gave me a good amount of energy to make it through a part of the day.

2 Nektar honey crystals ($1?)- These are so yummy.  I like to eat them plain for some reason, but they are delectable! I can't seem to find them anywhere in my local supermarket.

2 Packs of Stash Chocolate Orange Organic Tea ($.50)- I'm growing a small stash of stash tea now. I usually only drink chai tea.  I will drink any black tea they send, but I am not a big fan of subtle and flavored teas.

Motherlove diaper rash salve ($.67)- Well I have absolutely no use for this, so I will just give it away I guess. But samples feel a little akward to give out sometimes, so sometimes  I make little gift boxes of all the little things in sub boxes that I haven't used and then give them away.  It makes me feel like a good person, and the people feel awesome for getting a bunch of samples.

Zarbee's All-Natural Cough Syrup ($.76)- This is drug free. I have no problem with putting drugs in to me (unless they are illegal), but I'll try this.

Smarty Pants Kids Gummy Vitamins ($1)- Lol, I ate this myself and it was muy deliciouso! They tasted like candy.  The only thing I have to complain about is that you have to take six at a time to get your daily dose.  That can be a little costly.

Smarty Pants Grown-Up Gummy Vitamins ($1)- Same as above.

Two Snack Bars by Two Degrees ($4.43)- I really liked the texture of these.  The flavors were pretty good also.  I ate these two right away and I want more.

Olde Man Granola in Original Nut ($.50)- This was surprisingly good. I liked the nutty flavor a lot. I was expecting it to be bad because the name of it is "Olde Man Granola," but now I know not to judge a book by its cover.

(Not pictured, but is at the top of the first photo) Pure Living Tea Vanilla Chaga TGRT Raw Tea ($.44)- I may make this.  I am intrigued by tea when it has interesting packaging, so I am more likely to make this than the stash ones.

The total value of this box is about $24. Concious  box isn't really about values, but discovering new eco-friendly products.  I am not much of a health-nut at ALL.  But this box would be great for certain people, just not me.  So I went ahead and cancelled after my third month (this month).  Now I have some room in my budget. What box should I try out now?

Verdict- If you are looking for some new eco-friendly products, try this box out.  It is pretty darn good, but not exactly tailored for me.
